| While this may be one of the on-site restaurants for the Don CeSar resort, the menu stands on its own, and the openness of the venue, with its view of the Gulf of Mexico, makes it worthy regardless of its location. Two sides of the restaurant face outdoors, and on a typical Florida day, the sunlight pours in. Breakfast is buffet style or from the menu; the buffet comes with the standard eggs-bacon-pancakes options plus a well-stocked omelet bar. Lunch and dinner menus feature a variety of American items, from thin-crust pizzas to chilled peel-and-eat shrimp. Appetizers have a couple of surprises, including pan-roasted wild black mussels with roasted garlic jus and Asiago cheese. Entrées can be Florida-leaning and creative. Try the five-spiced crusted Gulf Coast snapper, served with a bonito broth, soba noodles and Asian vegetables. In a comforting vein, the best of the dessert list is a warm apple tart with cinnamon ice cream, or there's the Uncle Andy's homemade sundae, concocted from ice cream made on the premises. |
