As the name suggests, the Seafood Peddler is a purveyor of foods from the sea, including an oyster bar with selections from both coasts. Specials include fresh ahi, wild salmon when available, huge lobsters and Dungeness crab in season. There are also meat and poultry choices and pasta. Over the years this restaurant has become one of San Rafael’s go-to destinations for a family outing, brunch or holiday; outdoor seating includes a deck-style patio overlooking the canal. Seafood is also available to-go from the restaurant's in-house fish shop.

Excellent service and extremely fresh seafood. by alicenelson on 07/20/2009

We were very pleased with this restaurant! Everything was excellent: the food, service and atmosphere. I will definitely go back on Sunday to try the Sunday Brunch (which comes with a free Mimosa). I had the Petrale Sole Piccata and my husband had the Seared Scallops with Ratatouille. Both were cooked to perfection! We started off with the Blue Point Oysters. They said they are shipped in fresh daily and you can taste the freshness. They also have a great waterfront patio that I think we will try when we go back on Sunday. Perfect spot to sip Mimosa's on a Sunday afternoon. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We just dined at Seafood Peddler's tonight. What a disappointment! The service was okay. The food was mediocre!! The deep fried prawns were dry!! The other entrees were also dry with hardly any flavor. I would not recommend this place. VERY DISAPPOINTED with the quality of the food. Atmosphere was nice. You decide!
