SeaLegs Wine Bar, Huntington Beach, CA

SeaLegs Wine Bar Restaurant Review

: Inconspicuously located in a strip mall a city block away from the ocean, this charming venue captures the spirit of Surf City without succumbing to its downtown frat boy culture. The breezy, subtly nautical interior is filled with the energy of people dropping by to enjoy a selection from the impressive wine list, which is packed with boutique labels culled from the Pacific Coast. SeaLegs’ dedication to cuisine is just as important, and its contemporary share plates do a nice job of complementing the wines. Approachable dishes like the baby kale chicken Caesar salad, ground Wagyu beef meatballs and fresh house-cut fries smothered in a trio of cheeses are ready to match the vino. Heartier fare like the ancho chili braised short rib with poblano cream corn show nice harmony within the dish's composition. (Note: Former chef Alexander Dale has left the restaurant.) And desserts like the bananas Foster french toast featuring house-made brioche demonstrate the eatery is equipped to handle guests that are merely looking to pair their wine with a sweet treat.
