July 5, 10, 11, 18, 19 & 26 Seattle's newest spin on innovative dining can be found at The Corson Building, which is now serving a multi-course family style dinner for 30 guests at 7 p.m. two or three nights a week (Thursday-Saturday). The brainchild of Matthew Dillon (Sitka & Spruce) and Wylie Bush (owner of Joe Bar), The Corson Building is a cross between a food collective and an experimental studio for food. Guests never know what to expect but are guaranteed a culinary adventure. Dinner averages $80 per person or $110 with wine parings. Located in South Seattle's industrial Georgetown area at 5609 Corson Avenue, the ornate Spanish style structure was built in 1910. July 18-20 The Bite of Seattle food and beverage showcase is one of Seattle's biggest summer events. Following the public's request, this year the event will feature smaller portions of food at cheaper prices. Dishes will be offered from the likes of Wolfgang Puck Catering, Taphouse Grill, and Maggiano's Little Italy, and Tully's Coffee announced as the official coffee partner for the event. More than 150 musical acts are scheduled to perform at this three-day event and there is an option to attend comedy club events for the 21 and older crowd. Admission is free. July 31 Seattle's 21st annual Taste of the Nation will occur from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the South Lake Union Park, Naval Reserve Building. More than 50 of Seattle-area's finest restaurants, bakeries, wineries, breweries and coffee roasters are donating their time and culinary talents to raising funds and awareness to fight childhood hunger. One hundred percent of ticket sale proceeds go directly to local organizations, including Food Lifeline, Pike Place Market Foundation, Children's Alliance, Solid Ground and Farestart. Zephyr Grill & Bar introduces Mondays-only Duo Dinners when two can dine for the price of one. As South Puget Sound's destination for upscale comfort cuisine turns one-year-old, it’s celebrating with multi-course dinners for two. The special continues indefinitely, providing ample opportunity to sample more than two thousand possible combinations. For $60, guests savor individual entrées, shared appetizers and desserts, and a bottle of wine. On "TV Tuesday," Veil Restaurant offers gourmet TV dinners served on stylish, heavy, porcelain plates with a main dish nook and three compartmentalized squares for side dishes along the top. But rather than the one-dimensional Salisbury steaks typical of earlier incarnations of this American meal, today’s diners can expect dishes such as all-natural baked chicken with two-year-old Cabot Cheddar macaroni and cheese, fresh and local vegetables, and a treat such as Valrhona chocolate brownies with house-made cinnamon marshmallows. Café Flora, Seattle's ultimate veggie-only dining experience, is now offering its Atrium Garden Prix Fixe menu. Served only on Friday and Saturday nights, this four-course meal ($45) features handpicked organic produce from nearby Washington farms, foraged wild mushrooms and berries, and locally handcrafted cheeses along with other dairy products. Every Sunday, The Jones Bistro and Lounge in Maple Leaf is offering special three- and six-course menus comprising delights from seared ono with shaved fennel and a Dijon-Dungeness crab vinaigrette to spearmint-cantaloupe sorbet and morel-stuffed beef tenderloin.
