Openings

PNK Restaurant and Ultra Lounge, a spacious Latin fusion restaurant, will open this spring on the fourth floor of Pacific Place. Brother/sister restaurateur duo Rob and Tammy Armijo, who previously owned three lounges in the metro Denver area, say their new Seattle venture will have a sexy, dynamic atmosphere. Luc, the eagerly awaited neighborhood restaurant from Rover’s celebrated chef/owner Thierry Rautureau is scheduled to open this month. Located in Madison Valley across from Rover's on the northeast corner of Madison Street and 28th Avenue, Luc will serve a changing seasonal menu with selections ranging from burgers to beef bourguignon.
 
Seth Caswell, formerly the chef at Stumbling Goat Bistro, is opening Emmer & Rye this month at the site of the recently closed Julia’s on Upper Queen Anne. Look forward to Caswell’s seasonal menus and inventive culinary flair.
 
Toulouse Petit is inspired by New Orleans' French Quarter style and its Creole cooking, and this hip, sophisticated restaurant and lounge brings a bit of the Bayou to Seattle. An ambitious brasserie-style menu, serious cocktails, and seductive surroundings that glow with candlelight distinguish this Queen Anne Avenue spot. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner daily. Chicago-style Steakhouse Planning to Open in Downtown Seattle
Sullivan's Steakhouse, a Houston, Texas-based franchise, is moving into the space of the short-lived Lost Lady Cantina, formerly the location of Union Square Grill. No word yet about the opening date.
 
Blueacre Seafood to Open in Former Oceanaire Spot
Kevin Davis, who is co-owner with his partner Teresa Davis of the acclaimed Steelhead Diner in Pike Place Market, is set to open a second restaurant next spring back where he started. Formerly executive chef at the now defunct Oceanaire Seafood Room, his new restaurant---Blueacre Seafood---will open in the former Oceanaire location. Chef Shuffle

Garret Melkonian, the incredibly talented executive pastry chef for Tom Douglas’ restaurant group, is joining West Seattle’s Spring Hill Restaurant & Bar as its new pastry chef. Spring Hill Restaurant & Bar, 4437 California Ave. SW, Seattle, WA 98116, 206-935-1075.
 
Brian Hutmacher, owner of Peso’s Kitchen & Lounge in Queen Ann, has tapped Eric Donnelly for his soon-to-open restaurant, Toulouse. Located next door to his hip Mexican restaurant, Peso’s, the new venture will feature New Orleans-style French Quarter food and Big Easy ambiance.
 

Closings

Lampreia, one of Seattle's finest but often overlooked restaurants, is closing and will reopen later this month as a bistro. Chef/owner Scott Carsberg, who recently scratched his plans to move the restaurant to a larger space in Belltown, is turning his current space into an Italian cicchetti bar. After 10 years in University Village, Atlas Foods, originally part of Chow Foods, closed its doors Dec. 31st.  Boom Noodles is expected to take its place later this year. This leaves the question of where now in U Village to have breakfast since Atlas was the only option for the shopping center's full breakfast.
