Openings

Dining area at Cactus Cactus, a locally-owned group of upscale Southwestern-inspired restaurants, recently opened its fourth restaurant, this one close to Amazon’s bustling campus in the trendy South Lake Union neighborhood. The dining room is a bit more hip and contemporary than other locations, but the menu offers the same high-quality cuisine and cocktails. Cactus, 350 Terry Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98109, 206-913-2250.
 
The chef and owners of Belltown’s wildly popular gastropub, Black Bottle, have quietly opened their new restaurant in the former Marco’s Supper Club location. Just down the street from Black Bottle, on Second Avenue between Wall and Vine Streets, The Innkeeper focuses on affordable small plates inspired by Central and South American cuisines. We All Scream for Ice Cream, and Beer and Pinball
It might be chilly outside but this hasn't stopped two new ice cream shops from opening in Seattle. Bluebird Microcreamery, known for its voluptuous ice creams and microbrews, is opening a third location at 36th and Fremont Avenue. (Other locations are on Phinney Ridge and Capitol Hill.) In Ballard, Full Tilt Ice Cream, which also serves up pinball and beer, opened its fourth location, joining those in White Center, Columbia City, and University District.
 

Chef Shuffle

Quinn's gastropub recently hired Jeremy Ravetz as its new chef de cuisine. Ravetz, originally from Whidbey Island, is a transplant from Michael Mina's flagship restaurant in San Francisco, where he held the same position. Quinn's, 1001 E. Pike St., Seattle, WA 98122, 206-325-7711.
 
Heather Earnhardt, baker extraordinaire at Capitol Hill’s Volunteer Park Cafe & Marketplace, is moving on after nearly five years. Earnhardt, who kept the pastry case stocked with downhome pies, cookies, scones and other delectable treats, plans to teach baking classes and consult on projects.
