| Venice's Asian macrobiotic eatery Seed is helmed by Eric Lechasseur, formerly of Chaya’s M Café. While it may cater to vegans and vegetarians, it will surprise mainstream diners with its robust flavors. The menu features organic bowls with tofu or tempeh inspired by authentic Japanese, Thai and Indian curries; seitan pepper “steak” bowls; and roasted vegetable panini. Asian salads and bean-and-grain burgers on ciabatta rolls---complete with an order of fries and aïoli---are among the popular items. Desserts include vegan green tea cupcakes, seasonal mousses and chocolate truffles. |
