Located on the ground floor of a Midtown high-rise, this Japanese restaurant is best known for its shabu-shabu (paper-thin raw beef and vegetables) that patrons cook by dipping into a hot broth, and for its ishiyaki steak (tender filet mignon sizzled on a hot stone that absorbs the fat). The lobster sashimi appetizer (a whole raw lobster), the eel teriyaki, the sushi and the tempura are also popular. For a delicious side dish, try the steamed rice spiced with salted Japanese plums, sesame seeds, crushed bonito and chopped shiso leaves (a fragrant member of the mint family). Japanese ice cream is a refreshing dessert.
