Shanghai Cafe Restaurant Review: Fans of Chinese food overlook Shanghai Café’s strip mall location and head here for authentic cuisine. The interior with bright pink walls features scant decoration outside of a cold-case displaying Northern Chinese-style vegetarian appetizers. Although the menu is a scaled-down version of its Shanghai Garden cousins in Seattle’s International District and Issaquah, dishes have the same fresh, bold flavors. The kitchen is in the capable hands of chef/owner Ping-Fu Su. Expect barley green pot stickers and classic hand-shaved noodles; stir-fry dishes that include chicken, egg, squid and whole prawns; and sliced fish with yellow leeks. Brown and white rice are available, the tea is included and free-flowing, and the prices won’t dent your wallet. |
