Teaming up with executive chef Lance Gummere, owner Cindy Shera has established a sexy, high-energy, neighborhood-friendly spot that draws its patrons from all over the city. The restaurant features high ceilings and generous windows that enable patrons to enjoy the views of the street. Begin with an exploration of small plates, such as a chicken liver mousse studded with bacon bruschetta and a foie gras torchon with fruit accompaniments that change with the season. For your next burger feast, try this man-size two-hander with its crisp onions and very good cheddar cheese. Go lighter with first-rate mussels and fries, Euro-style with white wine and garlic. The kitchen’s emphasis on local ingredients includes Georgia trout paired with a local organic producer’s summer squash. Vegetarians may choose among the sides, including the squash, to compose a four-vegetable plate. For brunch, choose the Benedict, which comes with speck and a house-made biscuit. The well-chosen wine list offers bottles and by-the-glass choices that are out of the box. We love the Segura Viudas Brut Pinot Noir poured here for $7 a glass. It’s especially nice with the chicken liver bacon bruschetta or the foie gras torchon when it has a blueberry accompaniment. For dessert, try to save room for the brownie. Sunday dinner closes at 9 p.m.
