There is life after football---at least for former Miami Dolphins football coach Don Shula, who went into the restaurant business, opening steakhouses all over the country. This particular location bears a name that refers to Shula's record-breaking 347 NFL victories. To win at his new game, he has partnered with a farm that exclusively delivers certified Angus beef to his restaurants. Located in the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel, owned by the Kor Hotel Group which has brought us hip hotels like the Viceroy in Santa Monica and Palm Springs, Maison 140 and the Avalon in Beverly Hills, and the Chamberlain in West Hollywood, we welcome Shula's 347's modernism in the Los Angeles International Airport area. With dark leather booths, linen-clad tables and high-backed chairs, it offers a stylish and trendy dining option in that part of town. You will find all the trappings of the classic American steakhouse. At both lunch and dinner, the menu features a variety of burgers and sandwiches, salads and entrées, but also crab cakes, fried calamari or French onion soup. As you would expect, the steaks are of top quality; or you might choose grilled salmon or lobster. A few more minutes before catching that plane? Try the chocolate lava cake or the apple cobbler. The wine list is short, but the bar located on the other side of the restaurant has a long list of cocktails to sip in front of large TV screens.
