| The exterior of the restaurant is plain, the neighborhood undistinguished, but the welcome and food at Siam Restaurant make it worthy of a visit. The cars whizzing by the busy corner of Lincoln and Manchester might as well be miles away, because all is peaceful inside. Hand-carved lamps and screens lend an exotic feel, and the welcome is warm even to first-timers. The food here is good standard Thai with a few modern touches, with the grilled beef salad and duck dishes highly recommended. Thai beer and a few wines are offered for those who like something a little stronger than the usual iced tea. |
