The brainchild of local farmer Elaine Boland of Fields of Athenry farm, this cozy little spot pairs a grocery section filled with freshly butchered meats, farm-fresh soups, wines and olive oils with a small sit-down café. Because it opens early for breakfasts, locals can enjoy the renowned waffles with Amish butter or the sirloin steak with a side of fried potatoes or beef or pork bacon. And the super-charged coffee will kick off the day. Guests who drop by for lunch or an early dinner may order the chili or the homemade soups. Boland also serves two different versions of her bone broths. Sandwiches such as the pastrami melt and the very big burger are favorites. Wines (mostly locally produced), beers and other beverages keep folks well-fueled. Shop on your way out: you will not regret it.
