Sidney's Grille Restaurant Review: With a hip, contemporary design, Le Meridien Cambridge’s signature restaurant is a perfectly respectable option for the biotechies who lunch or visitors disinclined to venture into still-slightly-scruffy Central Square. The kitchen undertakes myriad fusions and infusions of ingredients both luxe and local --- and does so for the most part successfully, if predictably (a little white truffle here and harissa there). Start with a glass of Pinot Grigio and dive into the pan-seared jumbo lump crab cake stuffed with corn, cilantro, tomato, red onion and a nice sweet surprise of papaya. We like the creamy hummus with sun-dried tomatoes served in a jar with crusty bread. Grilled chicken flatbread is perfect for sharing, topped with onions, peppers and creamy Gouda and mozzarella cheeses and a garlic cream sauce. Main dishes include ricotta-stuffed ravioli, grilled rib-eye, roasted Amish chicken, and spaghetti and meatballs finished with the restaurant’s “three-hour” sauce. Go for the triple chocolate cake with raspberry coulis and sour cream icing for dessert.
