Joining Silver Lake’s roster of inviting neighborhood restaurants is this charmer with a cozy bar, blond wood wine racks and candlelit tables that create a warm environment. Some tables spill onto a sidewalk patio, adding to the bistro vibe. One might begin with a flaky tart topped with molten mozzarella, prosciutto and arugula, or flatbread with mushroom bacon jam. Compelling entrées feature short ribs over turnip mash, grilled chive infused salmon, and New Zealand rack of lamb with cherry Cabernet jus. For dessert, consider a chocolate-Kahlúa mousse cake, or simply finish off your wine with an attractively presented plate of artisan cheeses (the fine cheese store, Say Cheese, is a block away). The short wine list offers good prices and an eclectic mix.
