 Simon at Palms Place Restaurant Review: Kerry Simon's restaurant at Palms Place, the boutique tower of the Palms Casino, is designed to look simultaneously modern and natural. Panoramic windows overlook the exclusive Palms Place pool and the Red Rock Mountains, while inside clean metal lines mix with the textures of natural fibers and curves of wood and bamboo, all eco-friendly and sustainable materials. A greenhouse wall within the restaurant allows the chefs easy access to herbs and microgreens. Simon himself subscribes to healthy living, which is reflected in the menu, with such items as sushi and a simple raw salad of organic vegetables and a fruity olive oil and lime dressing. But there are still elements of fun, apparent in a hearty turkey Reuben, the chicken-fried chicken, and a smoked chicken pizza with arugula, walnut pesto and goat cheese. Desserts will make you feel like a kid again --- the "junk food platter" is full of sugary treats such as cotton candy, Rice Krispies treats and a milk shake. The restaurant also features one of the country's largest collections of small-bottle sakés, as well as a selection of organic wines.
