Santana Row already had an embarrassment of riches when it came to good restaurants. Well, the rich got richer when chef Chris Yeo opened Sino Restaurant & Lounge in Santana Row. The feel of the establishment is much like that of the nearby Straits, Yeo's fusion creation. But by focusing on Chinese fare, Sino's menu takes a more straightforward approach that its older sibling. That's not to say that the dishes are any less impressive. Sino's cuisine, so elegantly presented at the table, is full of the same high drama and overall quality that Yeo's followers have come to expect. From the starter menu, try the spicy kung pao chicken lollipops, chilled sunfish ceviche, or the lobster and fresh fruit salad in a creamy miso dressing. Follow with the popular orange-and-honey-roasted walnut prawns, Taiwanese basil clams or the wok-tossed beef and broccoli. To close, order the decadent molten lava chocolate cake with a side of vanilla bean ice cream.
