Sip Restaurant Review

: Andrew Weissman has once again taken charge of Sip, and the transformation is thorough. He has remade it as a flossy little global juice and sandwich shop. The smallish selection of juices is well-balanced, juxtaposing sweet ingredients like carrot and beet with tart apple, crisp celery and some much-welcome salt and spice (a favorite is The Science: apple, lemon, ginger, garlic, sea salt and basil). Sandwiches cross borders: a meaty Italian handful, two succulent intercontinental numbers with fried eggs, and a chicken salad rich with Indian spices and golden raisins are among them. They’re all served on soft, fresh rolls, but if you must avoid the gluten, you can pair your juice with a fresh salad instead. And, yes, you can still get a properly pulled espresso and enjoy it while observing the heavy foot traffic at the corner of Houston and St. Mary’s.
