 THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sip Wine Bar Restaurant Review: Chef Brian Redzikowski (also of Flavor Del Mar) oversees this energetic wine bar, where Del Mar denizens gather for specialty cheese, vino, house-made charcuterie and gourmet bar food. A giant wooden communal table anchors the room, which was designed by Thomas Schoos, where oenophiles enjoy nibbles and boutique wines by the glass. Other eye-catching edibles include pickled fingerling potatoes with crème fraîche and chives, duck fat fries, grilled hamachi with Brussels sprouts, and Skuna Bay spicy salmon hand rolls. We like to share the Niman Ranch sliders, lobster tempura or chicken skewers in Peruvian chili sauce. Redzikowski surprises and succeeds, and sommelier/general manager Jerome Astolfi knows his wine. |
