Sisters Thai Restaurant Review:

At this funky Thai restaurant in Old Town Fairfax, a host will lead you to one of the few tables in a dining room that looks like a 1920s Victorian parlor. But giving it away is the full name of the eatery: The Living Room Café. Cramped yet decorative, the interior sets the scene for a really decent meal of true Thai fare devoid of any catchy English or American add-ons. The menu ranges from garden rolls as appetizers to pad thai and drunken noodles. At least one oddity does appear: boneless duck wrapped in an Indian roti. Best bets are the red curry if you like spice and the tod mun starter for its dipping sauce. There are plenty of wines and beers (Thai beer, too) to wet the whistle. Desserts seem a bit Westernized, as in Key lime pie and chocolate mousse, but the kitchen also turns out fried bananas with ice cream and sticky rice and mango, both very traditional. Sisters Thai has a “sister” venue known as Sisters The Ordinary Café in the Mosaic District.
