Located on its namesake floor of the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, this über-classy, curvaceous dining room is adorned with a massive, twinkly Swarovski-crystal chandelier, soaring ceilings and a sweeping skyline view. The food, which is as pricey as the setting is posh, is global, artsy and --- to our pleasure --- fanciful. Luxury is a three-meal affair, though nighttime is when things ignite. The ever-changing à la carte offerings are now overseen by Joho and Robuchon vet Thomas Lents, who melds local and internationally culled ingredients in refined ways. Watch for real changes to ensue. In the meantime, be sure to check out the sophisticates-only, glass-enclosed wine gallery --- it’s loaded with expense account vintages (only a few selections are accessible to mere mortals). That said, there’s an unexpected sense of whimsy to the list; depending on the time of year, rosés may be featured more prominently than whites. Afterward, do head to Rebar, the swanky mezzanine-level lounge --- or (in summer) The Terrace at Trump --- for a nightcap.
