| This revolving restaurant in the iconic Space Needle opened for the 1962 World's Fair, and offers panoramic views and an experience well worth the price. The Pacific Northwest-inspired dishes include starters like locally sourced Penn Cove Manila clams and Dungeness crab cakes, plus prosciutto-wrapped bites of Beecher’s cheese. It’s best to order simple entrées, such as grilled Alaska wild king salmon served with apple cider butter and roasted fingerling potatoes, or the New York strip steak from Washington’s Double R Ranch. For dessert, the Lunar Orbit is a must. The wine list offers a good selection of well-priced Washington wines, and the service is professional and welcoming. Brunch is a special opportunity to experience the views for less money. One bonus to dining at SkyCity: The cost of taking the elevator to the Space Needle’s observation deck ($18 for adults/$11 kids) is included. Subtract this from the cost of your meal, and the bill will seem a bit more inviting. |
