Slater's 50/50 Restaurant Review

: Tucked away in an otherwise nondescript strip mall, this large, popular Anaheim Hills venue is well known for being the home of the “50/50 patty,” a burger made up of equal parts ground beef and ground bacon. However, this attention-getting patty merely scratches the surface of the near-hedonistic delights that are offered. For starters, the beer selection is dominated by an eclectic band of craft brews ranging from IPAs to stouts. Appetizers such as the garlic, cheese and artichoke Vampire Dip and sweet potato fries served with a rich pumpkin sauce are as wicked as they are tasty. While guests can construct a burger from eight different patties and seventy different toppings that run the gamut from anchovies to Thai chili sauce, the menu’s predetermined burgers and sandwiches are worth considering. Most notable among them are the strange yet appealing peanut butter and jelly burger and the hearty pastrami sandwich stuffed with coleslaw and french fries. And as one may suspect, bacon does make its way onto the dessert menu in the form of the chocolate bacon brownie à la mode.
