I Sodi Restaurant Review:

In a city crammed with Italian restaurants, this West Village eatery seems to get overlooked, which is a shame. The brainchild of native Italian Rita Sodi (who once worked as a fashion executive) and artist Josh Dworkis (who designed the chic and modern space), I Sodi offers a regional, seasonally changing menu, thanks to veteran chef Michael Genardini, formerly of L'Impero and Alto, with its roots in Tuscany. Think lemony raw artichoke salad and a fluffy, buttery artichoke lasagna. At least until artichokes go out of season --- then think asparagus. Pappardelle pairs with Meyer lemon and pecorino, while main courses may include a double-cut pork chop or whole grilled branzino, and there’s a different special each evening. A side dish of sautéed spinach rounds out the meal, as does vanilla panna cotta or a crostata spread with orange marmalade. I Sodi offers no fewer than seven Negroni variations, and a wine list with a focus on Tuscan bottles.
