Perch next to a sunny window, watch Prince Street shoppers pass by, and enjoy a pitcher of finely made sangría in this mellow Mexican cantina, where the lingering, stay awhile vibe is reminiscent of SoHo's long-gone café days. When you don't have to eat it and beat it you'll take notice of the details that make this spot a cut above the usual red-sauce, green-sauce assembly line. Freshly-made tortillas, for example, make all the difference in dishes like roast pork tacos al pastor and duck confit quesadillas, and a spare marinade allows the shrimp to swim through avocado, tomato, red onion and lime in the ceviche. A generous whole red snapper, whose charred skin combines perfectly with grilled peppers, onions, white wine and lime, justifies passing up cheaper burrito joints.
