SoHo Kitchen & Bar Restaurant Review

: SoHo Kitchen & Bar adds a touch of Southern charm to Ohio City’s restaurant row. This small, unpretentious spot in the former Lelolai Bakery space offers a menu full of surprises, including familiar dishes that are re-conceptualized. Under the steady hand of chef Nolan Konkoski, Southern-fried chicken comes three ways: mornin’ style (with waffles), evenin’ style (with mashed potatoes and collards) and late-night style (with mac ‘n’ cheese and sweet potato jojo fries). If you want to go the two-fisted route, three different po’ boys will accommodate --- we like the slow-roasted pork with bacon-jalapeño jam. Jalapeño hush puppies, while simple and straightforward, are a good side, as is the mac ‘n’ cheese topped with mustard crumbs. For dessert, go for the pecan pie. Even SoHo’s cocktails read Deep South, so expect plenty of bourbon, rye and moonshine-fueled concoctions. While the wine list is short, there are lots of interesting craft beers.
