: THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED The Roaring Twenties are alive and well at Sonny's An American Speakeasy, and you don't have to love retro to dine here. The elegant d├ęcor, featuring dark wood and dim lighting, evokes that bygone era, yet is hip and up to date. Caesar salad with a grilled chicken breast seasoned with Sonny's Spice Mix is on the extensive lunch, dinner and late night menus. So are many other offerings, including the delicious oven-roasted marinated portobello mushroom, stuffed with goat cheese, bell peppers and basil, served with balsamic sauce. There are imaginative pizzas and calzones, and Sonny's favorite meatballs---made with veal and beef and served with penne pasta, marinara sauce and Parmesan. Among hearty luncheon and late-night sandwiches are the classic Reuben and the Speakeasy burger. Sonny's breakfast calzone filled with bacon, scrambled eggs, Swiss cheese, tomato and scallions is a favorite on the 6-to-11-a.m. menu. Our favorite almost-round-the-clock offerings are the 12-ounce pan-seared black pepper-crusted Angus sirloin steak with Jameson Whiskey cream sauce; and the cannoli with sweet ricotta cheese and chocolate chips, served with chocolate sauce and pistachios.
