Sonny's Restaurant Review:
Fashionable and contemporary without being showy, Sonny's has owners who have a knack for providing what is vastly appealing to local glitterati and neighborhood diners across the generations. Its décor is charming, renovated and now with serious modern art, pale woodwork, flattering lighting and a striking modern fireplace. The modish menu evolves daily with plenty to tempt. Pressed ham hock terrine with pickled vegetables and an unexpectedly crispy pig’s ear, sea bream ceviche with mango purée, followed by lamb with Moroccan couscous and smoked aubergine or hake with baby squid and borlotti beans are confidently cooked. A savvy wine list has plenty of interest at fair prices. The waitstaff is admirably attentive yet laidback. Set 2-course lunch Mon.-Sat. £14.50, 3 courses £16.50; Mon.-Thurs. set 2-course dinner £16.50, 3 courses £19.50.
