THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sonoma Grille Restaurant Review:
The eclectic menu, channeling California dining, emphasizes fresh fare and lively wine pairings. Not surprisingly, the wine list spotlights West Coast wines. A cheerful décor --- in vivid colors, including murals of quaint village streets with flower-filled window boxes --- introduces a bright note to gray winters. The creative presentations, such as assorted tapas on an aged barrel stave, lend excitement to the meal. Servings are sized to be between appetizer and main course portions. As with California fusion, flavors cover Mexico, Japan, the Middle East, Spain, France and other regions. Try the duck mac 'n’ cheese, or the Sonoma mixed grill --- three price tiers for mixing and matching grilled meats, fish, dipping sauces and other accompaniments. A pastry chef turns out gingerbread cheesecake, french toast bread pudding and pomegranate pistachio mousse cake.
