THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sonoma Restaurant Review: This is the first restaurant launched, in 1992, by the Main Street group (Kansas City Prime, Arroyo Grill, Fish On Main) which includes Derek Davis, chef-owner, and is now their only location. It has a steely, contemporary feel that spills onto the sidewalk in summer (pets are welcome to join their owners), and is a gathering place for thirty-somethings and their parents both. Upstairs, the bar offers over 100 worldwide vodkas that are displayed in iced troughs. Non-vodka drinkers applaud the well-chosen, California-weighted wine list. Downstairs, the open kitchen prepares Cal-Italian cuisine that is strictly organic, and ranges from thin-crust pizzas to baked oysters with vodka cream and golden caviar. There are wraps and refried, creamy-crisp risotto cakes, great Caesar salad, and more serious dishes like roast chicken and garlic rib steak. Davis always has high intensity desserts like his signature white chocolate bread pudding and chocolate layer cake. Expect casual service to match the atmosphere.
