This charming spot, nestled on the southwest corner of Sonoma Plaza, serves up the most substantial array of foie gras and other similar delicacies one is ever likely to find, outside of the Dordogne. Try the smashing trio of foie gras or the charcuterie plate full of lovely pâtés and hams, or perhaps choose the substantial French onion soup. Sonoma Saveurs has a contract with a small artisan local foie gras maker, and the products are oh-so-fresh, and splendid. The outdoor area, too, provides diners with a proto-French casual experience. The wine list is ample, with a combination of both local and international selections. This stop is unusual and a bit pricey, but a wonderful place to relax, dream of the French countryside and enjoy the best foie gras available.
