Chef-owner Riccardo Bosio has always kept his Northern Italian menu fresh by inviting talented young chefs to work a stint in his kitchen, bringing along their own enthusiasms and influences, from Cajun to Contemporary. (Hint: you can try the chef du jour’s most inventive creations at the restaurant’s monthly Opera Night, featuring a six-course feast and arias by a guest soprano and tenor.) Still, you’ll always find Sotto Sopra’s classic signature dishes, like the luscious vitello tonnato and house-made duck ravioli, on the menu. The dining room is as cosmopolitan as ever, with its dramatic murals and soft lighting. It’s the complete package---sexy environs and a lightly edgy menu---that keeps this place so alluring.
