THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED A Sousceyrac Restaurant Review:
Despite its out-of-the-way location, this bistro has attracted much attention in recent years. It's a classically handsome place, with dark wood paneling, spacious linen-clad tables set along banquettes and a sturdy wooden bar. Service is traditional and professional. One dish gets the most acclaim here: lièvre à la royale (a roulade of hare stuffed with foie gras and truffles, bathed in a rich sauce fortified with blood, red wine and brandy). Other options include terrine de foie gras, beef- and duck-stuffed crêpes, Bresse chicken with chestnuts, truffles, morels and kidneys, and a very respectable cassoulet loaded with mutton, duck confit and sausage. For dessert, consider the macerated prunes with a phenomenal Armagnac ice cream.
