Chef-owner Stephen Kalt has a knack with Mediterranean flavors, and partner Cindy Smith is a service savant. They have steadily improved this casual but comely corner location, adding attractive black-and-white photos to the walls, until it routinely brims with the happy din of pleased patrons. Theres a steady crunch as they munch chef Kalts grilled pizza topped with Fontina and truffle oil. Mussel bisque adds a slurp to the noise level while aahs greet the beef short ribs in fava bean purée or Ligurian artichoke ravioli in thyme-infused sauce. Black linguini with stewed calamari combines lots of desirable flavors, while couscous and caramelized onions harmonize seamlessly with Moroccan grilled chicken.
