 With an art gallery on its premises and organic credentials liberally sprinkled throughout its menu, this restaurant is clearly catering to Santa Barbara's sizeable contingent of vegetarian and environmentally-conscious diners. However, they need to remember that locals have high standards when it comes to restaurants. Though dishes like the grilled avocado sandwich and seitan risotto cakes are sufficient to bring out local diners en masse, Spiritland needs to fine-tune its service and presentation before it can turn one-time visitors into regulars.
