Occidental College grads Bryce Rademan and Robert Wicklund opened this smart looking fast-food joint, specializing in the döner kebab (a sandwich, popular in Europe, made from Turkish-style spit-roasted meat). Spitz’s version, inspired by a döner kebab found in Spain, is generously stuffed into a focaccia sandwich with onions, peppers, cucumber, cool tzatziki sauce and chili sauce. “The Classic” is a combination of beef and lamb and is one of the best sandwiches you’ll find in Eagle Rock. In addition to the sandwiches, Spitz also serves a lavash wrap, falafel, sweet potato fries, 30-plus flavors of gelati and sorbet, and cinnamon-sugar pita strips with chocolate dipping sauce.
