The deli's logo of a well-stacked sandwich promises more than the menu delivers. And for those of us who crave a genuine New York experience on the banks of the Potomac, Stacks falls way short of the real deal. Take the corned beef sandwich: Imagine serving this cold without rye bread. And no kosher dill pickles, with the sandwich or on the table? Yet if you don't have the taste of New York in your mouth, then you may find its Sunday brunch inviting, and its other sandwiches and entrées, such as brisket and roast chicken, just the ticket.
