 David Burke’s Stadium Grill at Times Square’s Bowlmor Lanes offers casual American-style dining in a sports bar atmosphere. Tables are set on tiers, stadium-like, so you can watch the many screens showing baseball, basketball, football and other sports of the moment as you dine. “Expected” sports bar choices are a cut above both in presentation and ingredient choice. Try the shrimp cocktail summer roll, served with a mango rémoulade, for example, or the cornbread crusted crab cake with corn relish and chipotle aïoli to start. Remember that you’re in the middle of a bowling alley and enjoy a pizza, but be adventurous and go beyond the basic margherita version (it’s here, if you want it) and try a Burke twist with pastrami-cured salmon topped with lemon mascarpone and capers. Get rid of burger boredom with Bob’s Badass, a patty covered with spicy tempura shrimp alongside slaw draped in blue cheese. Other bowling comfort foods like nachos, meatloaf, chicken and fish all have a decidedly Burke spin. Fans will appreciate the chef’s signature cheesecake lollipop tree for dessert. The cocktail and beer selections are extensive.
