The Standard Restaurant Review:

For years, the space now occupied by The Standard held one of the gaudiest interiors of any restaurant in town. Red and black everywhere and flocked wallpaper made this a visual challenge. Atlanta restaurateurs Alison Wild and Lana Banks elegantly transformed it into an almost spa-like environment, with soothing colors, paintings by local artists, handmade tables and chairs, and soft lighting. As inviting as the atmosphere is the food. An arugula and watermelon salad can be followed by goat cheese enchiladas or a mirliton stuffed with lump crab meat and well-seasoned Gulf shrimp. Weekend brunch offers such tempting selections as sweet potato pancakes with praline pecans, and a crab cake Benedict. Dessert is limited to bread pudding with a bourbon crème anglaise. Wines have been carefully selected to complement the imaginative menu, and a full bar occupies a large part of the venue. Service is first-rate, and best of all, Wild and Banks are a constant presence.
