| The mass gourmet coffee culture craze that swept the country frankly got its start with Starbucks, a Seattle sensation that spread like a wildfire. There’s a good selection of baked goods to go with that latte, espresso, Frappuccino or regular cup of Joe; some locations sell warm food, too. To top it off, the chain is politically correct: they won’t purchase beans from areas of the world where plantations are suspected of treating workers unfairly. However, we often get the sense that the hurried staff are drinking too much of their own brew, and they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. |
