| Located on the 101 highway right across from the Solana Beach train station, Station Sushi is an unpretentious yet vibrant eatery that appeals to a young, energetic clientele. The extended patio allows for a nightly party in this casual setting where sushi is the star, but there's also a plethora of exotic rolls to choose from. A protein roll is action-packed with crab, spicy tuna, yellowtail and salmon---no rice in sight. Fans of piquant flavors will gravitate to the 911 roll, with its spicy crab, Cajun-seared tuna and fiery hot sauce. Other tasty bites arrive as "monkey stick"---spicy tuna, avocado, albacore and crab---or the "ex-tasy"---panko-fried halibut with crab, cream cheese and salmon with just the right amount of ponzu. Noodle bowls, teriyaki plates, tempura and tender gyoza satisfy those in the mood for non-sushi fare. Or go for the ultimate tasting and order chef James Bruce's omakase---25 pieces of his hand-picked, freshest sashimi. Please don't be surprised if your raucous neighbors are enjoying saké bombs---it's about fun and fresh fish at Station Sushi. |
