Stephanie Sokolove's South Boston outpost offers the same comfort fare flair as her namesake.
Stephi's in Southie Restaurant Review:
Stephanie Sokolove's (Stephanie's on Newbury) third restaurant is located in South Boston (the second is in the South End), just steps from the Broadway red line station in the Eleven West building. Start with a pineapple “Doli” made with house-infused vodka or a pitcher of Pavan red sangría that complements the crispy Thai shrimp spring rolls and baked Vermont goat cheese. The worldly menu ranges all over the map, from Southern fare like fried chicken with mashed potatoes to a Cuban sandwich and Italian sausage orecchiette. Sure, fans can still find Sokolove's mac ‘n’ cheese, but why not try something special like the Bloody Mary marinated steak tips? There are also hearty dishes like slow-roasted half chicken as well as lighter options including a crunchy vegetable salad, chunky chicken salad and seared sea scallops. Portions are oversize so come with an appetite or share plates with a friend. Desserts are worth every calorie, especially the caramelized apple bread pudding topped with warm caramel sauce and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
