Sukho Thai Restaurant Review: Sukho Thai has the distinction of being one of the only Asian restaurants in its neighborhood. But stay focused on the menu, because you're in for what amounts to a one-room eating tour of Thailand. Saucy egg noodles with chicken broth, fish balls and bean sprouts tastes like a quick dinner from a Bangkok street vendor, while green papaya salads are glossed with fish sauce and sweetened with palm sugar, just like those found in northern Thailand. Vibrant curries taste as if the cooks make them to order with a mortar and pestle, and the whole-fish dishes include steamed flounder, which emerges perfumed with lemon grass and kaffir lime leaf. Coconut rice pudding is a subtle ending to a meal. If you want alcohol, you must BYOB, though the honey-ginger tea is such a good companion for these dishes, it’s bound to keep you from drinking anything else. In fact, the lengthy tea menu is well worth studying and sampling. |
