Sukho Thai Restaurant Review: If you look for Thai food in the Marigny neighborhood, Sukho Thai is about the only game in town. Saucy egg noodles with chicken broth, fish balls and bean sprouts recalls a quick dinner from a Bangkok street vendor, while green papaya salads are glossed with fish sauce and sweetened with palm sugar, just like those found in northern Thailand. Vibrant curries taste as if the cooks make them to order with a mortar and pestle, and the whole-fish dishes include steamed flounder, which emerges perfumed with lemon grass and makrut lime leaf. Coconut rice pudding is a subtle ending to a meal. If you want alcohol, you must BYOB, though the honey-ginger tea is such a good companion for these dishes it’s bound to keep you from drinking anything else. In fact, the lengthy tea menu is well worth studying and sampling.
