Sundown's original taquería concept means patrons step up to the bar, order and pay for their fare before finding a table. Food comes right out, so start with the chunky guacamole, fresh tasting as ever. Salsas are chunky with chopped fresh tomatoes and vigorous applications of peppers and herbs. The beef enchilada is moist and tender; the lemon cream sauce to top it is a good idea. This home-style Mexican cooking also includes the legendary just-spicy-enough turnip greens. We miss Eddie's Pork, named for co-owner Eddie Hernández, and the chocolate chimichanga, but plenty of solace is to be found in the very fresh fish tacos and other treats.
