Nostalgic for the ’50s? Sunny Italy has been around since then, and it feels as if it never left that era. After being saturated by trendy trattorias, we find its supper-club atmosphere a refreshing change of pace. Cozy booths, flattering candlelight and unobtrusive entertainment enhance a room vaguely reminiscent of a piazza in a small Tuscan village. Appetizers include calamari fritti, steamed mussels and garlicky escargot. Among the better entrées are the veal Marsala and chicken ravioli.
