THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sunset Cafe Restaurant Review:

Though this Inman Square long-timer has a sterile look, the kitchen surprises with food that is anything but bland. Never mind the American lunch menu. Come for the traditionally hearty, often salty Portuguese dinner fare: steaming bowls of caldo verde (green) soup filled with spicy linguiça, collard greens and potato purée; flaming Portuguese sausages; and shellfish galore like the fiery camarao mocambique (shrimp sautéed in garlic, butter, beer and hot sauce). Meats come in all forms, such as veal Marsala, pan-seared sirloin steak and braised rabbit. Lighter seafood fare features grilled scallops, seafood risotto and baked scrod. On weekend nights, fado (folk) musicians perform (live guitar music on Fridays and bossa nova music on Saturdays). Like the décor, the spotty wine list could use some sprucing up --- many listed bottles are not available (but are reasonably priced, averaging about $20). Finish it all off with creamy flan or authentic Portuguese bread pudding.
