| When you want to add a dash of hip and happening to your soy sauce, head to this younger sibling of the South of Market sushi hot spot. An illuminated golden Plexiglas wall, lending a sunset glow to the room, backs the ten counter seats. Amber crushed-velvet café drapes and rust pillows add style. High-quality fish is handled with a level of artistry not often found at mid-priced sushi restaurants. Dig into any of the nightly specials, which might include a refreshing octopus, bonito and cucumber salad or tofu-skin-wrapped salmon and scallions. Ask for the prized toro (tuna belly), if it's available. A thoughtful selection of saké and Japanese beer cools the wasabi-scorched palate. |
