Sushi Hana Restaurant Review

: This little gem of a sushi bar has just 46 seats in its setting of rice paper shoji screens, mellow wood and soft gray walls brightened with an array of colorful paper parasols hanging from the ceiling. Two sushi chefs are busy behind mackerel, abalone, fluke, tuna and squid on display in the glass case. It's quite a show as they expertly slice fish for sashimi and whip up rolls with wacky names. Among them, the Dynamite (tuna, salmon and yellowtail in spicy sauce) and Dragon (shrimp, tempura, avocado and eel) are especially appealing, as is Dancing (smelt roe, eel, cucumber, shrimp, smoked salmon, crab meat and avocado). Hot pot dishes may be ordered from the kitchen; ditto teriyaki chicken and beef, noodle dishes and tempura, offering relief for the sushi-shy. Also check out the Korean fare, including classic bibimbap, a comforting mixed bowl filled with rice, chili paste, vegetables and egg and kalbi (short ribs). Great service.
