Sushi Twist fills a gap in this no man’s land section of Murray Hill, offering an array of above-average fish and a few baked Japanese standards. As the name would suggest, many of the sushi rolls have a “twist,” offering a large unorthodox selection. Go for the tastier-than-you’d-think volcano roll (crab, avocado and cucumber topped with mozzarella and then baked) or the spicy lovers roll (shrimp tempura, avocado and masago topped with more shrimp and tempura flakes and then sprinkled with mystery spicy sauce). Lovers of classic sushi will find all the regular hits---from the California roll to the Boston roll. A sizeable selection of sashimi is also on the menu. Nobu it's not---and that may be a good thing: you can always find a table and the atmosphere is unpretentious enough to make this eatery a fine standby when you get that sushi craving.
