| Swagat means "welcome" in Hindi, and the welcoming, family feel of this Indian restaurant more than justifies its name. The homey Madras cuisine features dosas---large crêpes draping over the plate, stuffed with such savory ingredients as curried potatoes laced with ginger. We are fans of the authentic tandoori dishes, deep golden-red in color. Wash everything down with a bottle of native Kingfisher beer, or a refreshing sweet lassi---iced yogurt in either a sweet version accented with rosewater, or a savory one laced with cumin. Almost everything here is homemade, including the condiments. |
